Alice and her husband, John, were deeply in love. They had built a happy life together, filled with laughter and love. But then John was killed in a car accident, and Alice's world was shattered.

In the aftermath of John's death, Alice retreated into herself. She couldn't bear to be in their home, surrounded by memories of their life together. She sold the house and moved away, but she couldn't escape the pain of her loss.

Years later, Alice receives a letter from John's parents. They tell her that they have decided to sell the house, and they want to give Alice the opportunity to buy it back. Alice is hesitant at first, but she eventually decides to take a look at the house.

As Alice walks through the door of her former home, she is overwhelmed by memories. She sees John sitting in his favorite chair, reading the newspaper. She hears his laughter in the kitchen. It's as if he's still there, alive and well.

Alice is torn. She wants to stay in the house, to be close to John again. But she's also afraid of the pain that the memories will bring. She knows that if she stays, she will have to confront the grief that she has been avoiding for years.

In the end, Alice decides to buy the house. She knows that it will be difficult, but she also knows that it's the only way to truly heal from her loss.

Walking Through The Door Johnstone is a beautifully written and deeply moving novel about love, loss, and redemption. Cleeves does an amazing job of capturing the複雑 emotions of grief and loss. She also creates a rich and atmospheric setting that draws the reader into the story.

If you're looking for a book that will stay with you long after you finish it, I highly recommend Walking Through The Door Johnstone.
