Lost in Hawaii: Our 17-Year Family Vacation

In the summer of 2005, our family embarked on a 17-year adventure that would take us to the beautiful islands of Hawaii. We were a family of four: my husband, myself, and our two young children. We had always dreamed of taking a family vacation to Hawaii, and we were finally able to make it happen.

We spent our first week on the island of Oahu. We stayed in a hotel in Waikiki Beach, and we spent our days exploring the island. We visited Pearl Harbor, hiked to the top of Diamond Head Crater, and took a surfing lesson. We also spent a day at the Polynesian Cultural Center, where we learned about the different cultures of the Pacific Islands.

After a week on Oahu, we flew to the island of Maui. We stayed in a condo in Kaanapali, and we spent our days relaxing on the beach, swimming in the ocean, and hiking in the mountains. We also took a whale watching tour, and we were lucky enough to see several humpback whales.

After a week on Maui, we flew to the island of Kauai. We stayed in a cottage in Poipu, and we spent our days exploring the island. We visited Waimea Canyon, went kayaking in the Wailua River, and hiked to the top of Mount Waialeale. We also spent a day at the Kauai Coffee Company, where we learned about how coffee is grown and processed.

We spent the last week of our vacation on the island of Oahu. We stayed in a hotel in Honolulu, and we spent our days exploring the city. We visited the USS Arizona Memorial, the Iolani Palace, and the Bishop Museum. We also spent a day at the Honolulu Zoo, where we saw animals from all over the world.

Our 17-year vacation to Hawaii was an amazing experience. We got to see some of the most beautiful scenery in the world, and we made memories that will last a lifetime. We are so grateful that we had the opportunity to experience Hawaii with our family.
